“Coach Me Well” focuses on your needs as an individual. There are no prescribed diets, restricted food ranges, or calorie counting activities. With the support of our professional team, you’ll make all the important decisions on your journey to a healthier and happier you – what you will eat, drink, how and when you will exercise. At the end of the programme, there is no return to ‘Normal’ phase, when all your hard work is slowly undone and you’re left disillusioned, unsupported and often weighing more than when you started.

“Coach Me Well” doesn’t just focus on food and exercise, but looks at you as a ‘whole person’ – your life, habits, motivations, and beliefs, and provides the therapy and tools to enable you to take more control and live a healthier and happier life.  It is an approach that is recommended for treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety, stress, insomnia, and many other emotional or psychological problems regularly encountered.

ZH, Hertfordshire recently (March 2015) completed the “Coach Me Well”, Insight Programme and this is what she wrote for us:

“When I first met with Karen I was apprehensive and didn’t know what to expect from the session but as soon as the front door was opened I felt at ease. Karen is extremely warm and has a sense of calm about her which is infectious. I found I could open up to her without feeling as though I was being judged and left the session feeling as if a weight had been lifted. We discussed what I wanted to achieve from the sessions, how realistic my goals were and how I was going to carry out the changes. Karen made me really think about my priorities and put things into perspective. I knew the coming weeks would see a change in my lifestyle and I was and still am really excited. I spoke to Andrew regarding nutrition and again I left the call feeling really motivated and knew I wouldn’t diet again. I was going to change my eating habits but not deprive myself or feel guilty about eating ‘bad’ foods. Several weeks on from my call with Andrew and I feel better than I have for a long time. I’m eating healthier foods and smaller portions whilst not depriving myself should I want something a little more calorific. I have lost nearly a stone and dropped two dress sizes and all the while not felt like I’ve missed out. If I had been dieting I would have given in by now and feeling angry with myself for not having enough willpower to stick to a diet. I haven’t lost weight as quickly as if I were following a dieting club but my weight loss is steady and much more likely to stay off for good.  I can’t recommend Karen and Andrew highly enough. I am so much happier now I’ve changed my eating habits and outlook on life and feel this is a long term investment. Sustained Wellbeing, Not Just Weight Loss

The programme takes place over a 6 week period, with regular life and wellbeing coaching, nutritional therapy and hypnotherapy to motivate you to reach your goals and sustain your new weight, fitness and well-being practices.

The basic “Coach Me Well – Insight” programme (£295) includes:

2 Life/Wellness Coaching sessions (3 hours)

1 Nutrition/Exercise Consultation (1 hour)

2 Hypnotherapy Sessions (2 hours)

Coach Me Well Programme (£495)

Often clients decide that more support over a sustained period of time is appropriate for them.  The full “Coach Me Well” Programme for an amazingly affordable investment of £495, can be offered for up to a 6-month period with monthly life and wellness coaching, 2 nutrition and exercise consultations, and 2 hypnotherapy sessions for changing eating and exercise habits (10 hours of individualised therapy in total).  If clients would prefer a programme designed specifically around their own needs and schedule; maybe lasting between 6 weeks and 6 months, this can also be supported. 

NICE Guidelines

The National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends that weight management programmes meet the following criteria, all of which are fundamental to the “Coach Me Well” Programme:

  • Help people assess their weight and decide on a realistic healthy target weight
  • Aim for a maximum weekly weight loss of 0.5–1kg
  • Focus on long-term lifestyle changes rather than a short-term, quick-fix approach
  • Be multicomponent, addressing both diet and activity, and offering a variety of approaches
  • Use a balanced, healthy-eating approach
  • Recommend regular physical activity and offer practical, safe advice about being more active
  • Include techniques, such as keeping a diary and advice on how to cope with ‘lapses’ and ‘high-risk’ situations
  • Provide ongoing support
